Ridge Gourd Dal


Ridge Gourd --- 2 medium
Tomato-------2 small
Toor Dal ------ 1 Cup
Green Chillis ---4
Turmeric powder --- ½ tsp
Tamarind pulp--- ½ tsp
Seasoning items –1/4 tsp
(Urad dal,Channa dal,Mustard seeds)
Salt ----Enough


1.Wash Ridge Gourd and peel the green layer. Chop the Ridge Gourd into small pieces.

2.Wash Green chillis and chop into small pieces.

3.Wash toor dal and pressure-cook.

4.In a pan, heat oil and prepare seasoning with seasoning ingredients.

5.Add chopped ridge gourd, tomatos and green chillis. Mix well.

6.Once ridge gourd is cooked, add cooked dal.

7.Add tamarind paste, turmeric powder and salt.

8.Cook for 5 more minutes until all the ingredients mix up and cook well.

9.Add curry leaves and turn off the stove.

Ridge Gourd dal is ready. Eat with rice or chapathi.
