Banana Flower Curry


Banana flower -- 1
Moong dal -- 1/4 cup
Tamarind --- 1 lime size
Oil --- 4 spoons
Curry leaves --- 2 stems
Green chillis --- 8
Red chillis --- 8
Red chilli powder-- 1/2 spoon
Salt to taste
Seasonings( 1 tsp each) (chana dal, urad dal, mustard)
Hing -- pinch
Methi seeds --1/2 spoon


1.Cleaning Banana flower .

2.First you have to separate flowers. Then cut into small pieces.
3.Take a vessel put little salt, pinch of turmeric powder .

4.Then add moong dal, banana flower pices and boil it for 10 minutes.

5. Strain the excess water to make sure that it should be dry.

6.Take a frying pan, heat it on the stove.

7.Add oil, wait until it it hot enough to add seasonings.

8. Red chillies has to fry first then methi seeds,add chana dal, urad dal, mustard seeds, hing accordingly.

9. You can feel the smell when it is fried and make sure that mustard seeds are popped.

10.Now it is the time to add green chillies, curry leaves, soaked and strained tamarind paste, chilli powder, salt let it fry for 2 minutes.

11.when it is ready add mixure of Banana flower/moong dal in the pan and cook it for 10 minutes in the low flame.

12. Mix it properly to makesure that ingredients are mixed well.

That its it, Hot hot mouth watering curry is ready.

To really enjoy this curry you should have the side dish which is urad dal vadiyams. Its really good taste.

Tip:This dish has very good vitamins, protiens, fiber you can enjoy.
