Besan Muruku


Rice flour ----3 cups
Besan ---1 cup
Agwain seeds powder – 1 tsp(Vamu powder)
Salt ----1 tsp
Red chili powder---11/2 tsp
Asafoetida---1/2 tsp
Oil--- 3 cups for frying

Preparation Method:

1. In a big plate, mix rice flour, besan,Ajwain seeds powder, salt, red chilli powder and asafoetida.

2. Mix 5 to 7 Tsp of hot oil into the flour and mix well.

3. After mixing the oil, when you hold, hand full of rice flour, it should stand like a ball and do not fall of like powder)

4. Mix water little by little, and make the flour together and tight. Do not make it pasty.

5. fill muruku gottam with mixed flour and squeeze into hot oil, carefully.

6. You can choose either star shape or circle shape, small doted holes or rectangular slit holes in the plate and make muruku in your desired shapes.

7. Deep fry in hot oil in medium flame.

8. let them dry on a dry paper for few minutes.

Crispy besan muruku is ready. You can store in a air tight container atleast for a month.
