Bindi Do Pyaza (Okra Masala – Bindi masala)


Okra - 1 lb
Onion – 2 big
Tomato – 1 medium
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Cumin powder -----1 tsp
Garam Masala ------1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder ----1 tsp
Green chillis-----2 to 4
Oil ------2 tsp of oil
Cumin seeds------1 Tsp


1.Wash and clean okra. Dry those on a dry cloth.

2.Cut okra length wise. One okra into two pieces.

3.Chop tomatoes, green chillis and onions into long pieces and keep aside.

4.In a pan heat 1Tsp of oil and fry okras and keep aside.

5.In the same pan, heat 1 Tsp oil and add cumin seeds.

6.Add chopped onions to the splattering zeera and fry till the onion is half cooked.

7.Add salt, cumin powder, coriander powder, chopped tomatoes and cook until the onions are cooked well.

8.Add fried okras and little garam masala powder and mix well until the flavours are mixed well.

9.Add 2tps of lemon juice to the curry.

10.Garnish with coriander leaves.

Delicious Bindi Do Pyaza is ready. It tastes good with hot rice and rotis.
