Bottle Gourd Curry


Bottle gourd – 1 medium size
Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
Pea nuts ----1/4 cup
Sesame seeds – ¼ tsp
Coriander powder – ¼ tsp
Cumin powder ---1/4 tsp
Salt ---enough
Coconut powder – 2 tsp
Seasoning items – ¼ tsp each
(Channa dal,Urad dal, Mustard seeds,Cumin seeds)
Cinnamon –1 inch
Asafoetida – Pinch
Coriander leaves ---2 strings
Curry leaves – 1 string


1. Dry fry Peanuts and sesame seeds and make powder.

2. Take out the peal to bottle gourd and chop into small pieces.

3. Heat oil in a pan and prepare seasoning with all seasoning items. Add cinnamon as well.

4. When mustard seeds splatters, add asafoetida, bottle gourd pieces. Fry well and cover with lid.

5. Once bottle gourd pieces are well cooked, add peanut powder and sesame seeds powder, coconut powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, salt. Mix well and cover with lid, so that all the ingredient flavors.

6. Garnish with coriander leaves and curry leaves. Turn off the stove.

Delicious bottle gourd curry is ready. Eat with hot rice or chapathi.
