Chayote Squash Dal

Ingredients:

Chayote Squash --- 2 medium
Tomato-------2 small
Toor Dal ----1 Cup
Green Chillis ---4
Turmeric powder --- ½ tsp
Tamarind pulp--- ½ tsp
Seasoning items –1/4 tsp
(Urad dal, Channa dal, Mustard seeds)
Salt ----Enough


Procedure:

1.Wash Chayote Squash and peel the green layer. Chop the Chayote Squash into small pieces.

2.Wash Green chillis and chop into small pieces.

3.Wash toor dal and pressure-cook.

4.In a pan, heat oil and prepare seasoning with seasoning ingredients.

5.Add chopped Chayote Squash, tomatos and green chillis. Mix well.

6.Once Chayote Squash is cooked, add cooked dhal.

7.Add tamarind paste, turmeric powder and salt.

8.Cook for 5 more minutes until all the ingredients mix up and cook well.

9.Add curry leaves and turn off the stove.

Chayote Squash dal is ready. Eat with rice or chapathi.
