Cucumber Curry


Cucumber --- 2 Medium
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder --- ½ tsp
Salt ----enough
Daliya powder -- 1 Tsp
Oil --- 1 Tsp
Seasoning items – ¼ tsp each
(Channa dal,Urad dal, Cumin seeds,Mustard seeds, Asafoetida)
Curry leaves – 1 string


1.Wash the cucumber and chop into ½ inch cubes. ( do not take out the peal).

2.In a pan, heat oil and prepare seasoning with all seasoning ingredients.

3.Add chopped cucumber pieces and mix well with seasoning. Cover with a lid.

4.Grind daliya into fine powder and keep aside.

5.Once cucumber pieces are cooked and soften, add daliya powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, salt and curry leaves. Mix well.

6.Cover with lid and let the curry cook for 5 more minutes, so that all the ingredient flavors can mix up.

Cucumber curry is ready. Eat with chapathi / roti or hot rice.

Tip: Cucumber has lot of water. It is good for health and beauty. Cucumber helps in reducing body heat.
