Gongura Pulusu


Gongura -- 1 bunch
Onion -- 1
Chana dal --- 1/2 cup
Green Chillies --- 6
Tamarind past e --- 1/2 spoon
Turmeric --- pinch
Hing ---- pinch
Rice flour ---- 1 spoon
salt ----- 1 spoon
Methi seeds ---- 1/2 spoon
Mustard seeds --- 1 spoon
Red chillie powder ---- 1/2 spoon
Oil ---- 2 spoons


1.Wash and clean Gongura without stems.

2.Cut Onion, Gongura, Green chillies into fine.

3.wash chanadal palce in a bowl along with gongura,onion,green chilles and 1 cup of water.

4.In a pressure cooker cook it for 3-4 vistles on high flame.

5.take a vessel place it on medium heat add oil.

6.Slowly add Methi seeds, mustard, red chillies, hing fry nicely.

7.Dump the cooked gongura in the vessel very slowly.

8.In a small bowl take 1/2 cup of water add rice flour, salt mix well and pour it in the vessel slowly make sure no lumps.

9.After boiling 5 minutes add tamarind paste, turmeric, red chillie powder let it cook for 3-4 minutes.

10.Place in a bowl and serve it with nice Sona Masoori rice.

Its really great combination. Iron rich food very tasty green leave stew.
