Mango Dal


Raw Mango------1
Green chillis -----5
Toor daal---1 cup
Sugar---1/2 tsp
Garlic pods---2 to 4
Turmeric powder----1/2 tsp
Red chilli powder----1 tsp
Seasoning items-1/2 tsp each (Urad dal,Mustard seeds)
Asafoetida ---Pinch


1.Take out the peal for raw mango and cut into small pieces.

2.In a vessel take toor dal and wash well. Add two cups of water.

3.Add chopped mango pieces and green chillis to the dal and pressure cook for 3 whistles.

4.In a pan, take 2 tsp of oil and prepare seasoning with all the seasoning items.Add garlic pods and Asafoetida.

5.Add cooked mango dal to the seasoning. Add some water, red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt. sugar.Cook for 5 to 7 minutes.

Spicy & Soar Mango Daal is ready. Eat with hot rice and ghee.

Tip: Along with mango pieces, you can add mango seed as well while cooking the daal. It will add extra soadness to the daal.
