Methi Dal


Methi --- 1 bunch
Green chillis ---3 to 5
Toor dal -----1 cup
Turmeric powder ----1/2 tsp
Seasoning items –1/4 tsp
(Urad dal, mustard seeds, Asafoetida)
Oil ----2 tsp
Tamarind pulp – ½ tsp
Salt ---enough


1.Boil toor dhal in pressure cooker.

2.Chop green chilis and methi to small pieces.

3.In a pan, heat oil and prepare seasoning with seasoning ingredients.

4.Add chopped methi and green chillis. Mix well.

5.Once methi is cooked, add cooked dhal.

6.Add tamarind paste, turmeric powder and salt.

7.Add curry leaves.

8.Cook for 5 more minutes until all the ingredients mix up and cook well.

Methi dhal is ready. Eat with hot rice or chapathi.
