Mukkala Pulusu


Carrot --- 1/2 cup
Bottle gourd ---- 1/2 cup
Sweet potato ---1/2 cup
Okra ---- 1/2 cup
Potato ----1/2 cup
Seasoning items – ¼ tsp each
(Channa dal, Urad dal, Mustard seeds, Asafoetida)
Tamarind pulp --- 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Red chilli powder --- 1 tsp
Rice flour ---- 2 Tsp
Salt ----for taste
Jaggery ---- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves ----2 strings
Curry leaves ----5 to 10


1.Cut all the vegetables into equal size pieces.

2.Cut the potatoes and sweet potatoes with the peel.

3.In a pan, heat 3 tsp of oil and prepare seasoning with all seasoning ingredients.

4.Add chopped vegetables and fry for 1 minute.

5.Add water till all the vegetables are properly soaked and to soup consistency.

6.Add tamarind pulp, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and let cook.

7.Add coriander leaves and curry leaves.

8.Once all the vegetables are softened and properly cooked, add Jaggery and cook for a while.

Delicious Mukkala Pulusu is ready. Eat with white rice or Dal rice.

Note: You can add Drumsticks as well, if you like.
