Sweet Pongal/Paramaannam


Rice --- ¾ glass
Channa dal --- ¼ glass
Jaggery --- ¾ glass
Cardamom – 4
Cashew nuts – 8
Raisins --- 8
Ghee --- 6 tsp
Edible Camphor – pinch


1.Rice + channa dal rinse well and add 2 cups of water and pressure cook for 2 whistles and turn off the stove.

2.Heat 3 tsp of ghee and fry cashew nuts, raisins to golden brown color.

3.Add boiled rice-channa dal mix, jaggery , water and mix well and let boil for a while.

4.When jaggery melts totally and tighten add pinch of cardamom powder, pinch of edible camphor, 3 tsp of ghee. Mix well and turn of the stove.

Very tasty Sweet pongal is ready.
