Vermicilli Kheer (Vermicelli payasam / Semiya payasam)


Vermicelli ------ 1 cup
Sugar------1 cup
Cardamom powder ---1/4 tsp
Nuts------10 each (Cashew nuts, Almonds, Pista)
Ghee----2 tsp
Milk ----3 cups


1. Fry vermicelli to golden brown color with 1 tsp of ghee and keep aside.

2. Fry the chopped nuts with 1 Tsp of ghee.

3. Add 3 cups of milk and bring to boil.

4. Add sugar and stir for 1 minute.

5. Add fried vermicelli and let cook.

6. Once vermicelli is cooked, add cardamom powder and turn off the flame.

Delicious Vermicelli Kheer is ready. Eat hot or cold.


1. Turn off the stove, when Vermicelli is cooked and some milk is left and looks gravy. Because, when vermicelli cools down, it absorbs the remaining milk and becomes tight.

2. You can add, food color and rose essence according to your interest.
