Rava(Pindi)Pulihora

Ingredients:

Rice ---3 cups
Fresh Tamarind --- ½ brick
Green chilis --- 5 to 7
Jaggery  ---- Amla size
Turmeric powder --- 1 tsp
Salt --- enough
Asafetida (Hing) ---- ½ tsp 
Seasoning Items:
Channa dal ---- 1 tsp
Urad dal ----1 tsp
Mustard seeds ---1 tsp
Zeera ----1 tsp
Cashew nuts -----10 to 15
Red chilis ---- 5 to 7
Curry leaves -  10
Oil ---- 2 serving spoons

*Heat  3 tsp of oil and put all the seasoning items. When the mustard seeds splatters, turn off the flame and keep it ready

Procedure:

1.Wash the rice and dry on a cloth for 30 mintues.

2.Grind it coarsely and prepare rice rava.

3.Cook with just enough water and keep it ready.( 2 cups water for 1 cup rava). Add ½ tsp of oil while cooking so that rava do not get pasty.

4.Soak tamarind for 1 hour.

5.Squeeze the tamarind pulp and keep in a bowl.

6.In a pan, take 1 serving spoon of oil. When the oil is heated, add cut green chillis, red chillis, asafetida and tamarind pulp and mix well. Let it boil.

7.Tamarind pulp will change the dark color and the quanity also reduces to 1/3.

8.Add salt and turmeric powder and jaggery and let it boil for few more minutes. And turn off the flame.

9.Take cooked rice in a big bowl. And add 2 tsp of oil and mix well.

10.Add boiled tamarind pulp and seasoning to the rava and mix well.

11.Add salt if needed.

Rava Pulihora is ready.
