Jeera Rice

 

 

Ingredients:

Cumin seeds ---- ¼ cup
Basmati Rice------3 cups
Onion ----1 medium
Green chilis ----2
Ginger garlic paste----1 Tsp
Cloves----3
Cinnamon – 3 pieces
Bay leaves-----3
Cashew nuts-----15 to 20
Ghee or Butter-----2Tsp

Procedure:

1. Wash the basmati rice and soak with water for ½ hour.
2. Heat Ghee or Butter in a pan.
3. Add cloves, cinnamon, bay leaves and cumin seeds.
4. Add Cashew nuts and fry to golden brown color.
5. Add ginger garlic paste and fry for a while.
6. Add chopped onions and green chillis, fry to golden brown color.
7. Drain out all the water from Basmati rice and fry for 1 minute along with onion.
8. Add 41/2 cups of water (for 3 cups of rice) and add salt.
9. Cover with lid and cook until the rice is done.
10. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Delicious and Healthy Zeera rice is ready. You can eat along with raita or chole.
