Onion Pakodi

Ingredients:

Besan --------------1 cup
Onion --------------2
Ginger -----------1/2 inch
Curry leaves ------5 to 10
Rice flour ----------2 tsp
Green chillis -----3 to 4
Salt -------------enough
Turmeric --------1/2 tsp
Asafetida----- Pinch
Oil --------------for frying 

Procedure:

  • Chop onions in length wise.
  • Chop ginger, green chillis and curry leaves into small pieces.
  • In a bowl, mix besan, rice flour, turmeric powder, little hing , chopped onions, ginger pieces, green chillis, salt and little water . Mix well.
  • Onions will have little moisture. So, for crispy pakodas, no need to add water.
  • If water becomes more, pakodas  comesout softer.
  • Garlic is optional, if desided you can add too.
  • Heat oil in medium flame.
  • Take the besan mix little by little and deep fry in hot oil, carefully.

    Onion Pakoda is ready.
