Pongal Vada/ Kichidi Vada

pongali vadaIngredients:

Rice Pongal/ Kichidi  ----1 cup
Rice flour----1 cup
Salt----enough
(Pongal already has some salt)
Red chili powder----1/2 tsp
Oil-----for frying 

 

 


Pongal Preparation: 

1.Wash ½ cup of rice and ½ cup of moong dal.

2.In a vessel take rice-moong dal mix. Add 3 cups of water, ½ tsp of cumin seeds, ½ tsp of black pepper powder, enough salt.

3.Pressure cook the pongal for 2 to 3 whistles. 

Pongal vada prepaPration: 

1.In a vessel, take cooked pongal, rice flour, little salt, red chili powder and mix with warm water to vada batter consistency.

2.Take small quantity of pongal mix into hand, make it in circle shape.

3.Gently leave the vada into hot oil, carefully.

4.Deep fry until vada turns into golden brown color. 

Pongal/Kichidi vada is ready. Eat along with Tomato sauce 

TIP:You can use left over Kichidi / Pongal  to make these vadas
