Ash Gourd Halwa

Gummadikaya halwa-2

Ingredients:

Ash Gourd --------1
Sugar ---------------11/2 KG
Cardamom powder ---1 tsp
Raisins ------------------20
Casewnuts ------------30
Camphor Crystals—pinch
Saffron ----------------pinch
Ghee -----------------1/4 kg

Procedure:

1.Take out the peal for ash gourd , grate finely with coconut grater and pressure cook.
2.Fry casewnuts and raisins in ghee and keep aside.
3.Apply ghee to a plate and keep it ready.
4.Take out grated ash gourd from cooker and squeeze out all the water.
5.In a thick pan, take sugar and pour water until the sugar is immersed in water and make sugar syrup with one string consistency.
6.Put boiled grated ash gourd and little milk, ghee, cardamom powder and camphor crystals and let it boil for a while.
7.Keep stirring occasionally.
8.All the milk, ash gourd everything  will get cooked well and comes out like halwa.
9.Place the halwa on greased plate and decorate with fried casewnuts and raisins.

TIP : Ash gourd is good for liver. If you eat frequently it will help in blood purification.
