Ingredients:

Channa dal --- 1 cup
Sugar -----------1 cup
All Purpose flour- 1 cup
Grated coconut –1/2 cup
Cardamom powder --  1 tsp
Oil --------------------- 1 cup
Poppy seeds -------- 2 Tsp

Procedure:

1.Mix water in all- purpose flour and make puri dough.Leave  the dough untouched for one hour.
2.Pressure cook channa dal  for 2 whistles, with just enough water.
3.If cooked channa dal has little water, drain the water and spread that on a dry towel or paper.
4.In a bowl take boiled channa dal and mash it. Add sugar, cardamom powder, grated coconut, poppy seeds  and mix well.
5.If by any chance channadal mix becomes little gravy, stri it for a while on low flame. It becomes tight.
6.Better to have the tighter channa dal mix as possible.
7.Make balls with the channa dal mixture.
8.Take small ball from the puri dough and spread it on  palm . Keep the channa dal mix ball in it and wrap it like a stuffed ball.
9.Place it over a Aluminium foil  or banana leaf, spread it like a chapathi.
10.Place it gently on a hot pan and fry both sides
 
Sugar Bobbattu is ready.
