Sweet Shells (Gavvalu)

Ingredients:

All purpose flour ------ 1 cup
Dalda/butter/ghee------3 Tsp
Curd----------2Tsp
Sugar-------1 cup
Baking powder -----3/4 tsp
Oil------2 cups for frying.
Lemon juice------ two drops.

Procedure:
1.In a vessel, take dalda or ghee, baking powder,curd and enough water and get to puri batter consistency.
2.Make small balls with the puri batter.
3.Each ball press on “Shells (Gavvalu) peeta”  to make “Shell” shape.
4.Make all ‘Shells” and keep aside on a plate.
5.Take sugar in a vessel and add water until sugar is immersed in water and prepare sugar syrup to one string consistency. Turn of the stove and  add two drops of lemon juice to the syrup. (lemon juice helps to stop thickening the sugar syrup)
6.Fry the prepared ‘Shells” in hot oil to golden brown color.
7.Immerse fried “Shells” in sugar syrup. Wait for 1 to 2 minutes until the sugar syrup coated on “Shells”. Take those out of syrup and place in a plate.
