Moong Daal Kheer ( Pesara Pappu Paayasam / Moong dal Paayasam)

Ingredients:

Moong dal -----1 cup

Milk------- 3 cups

Jaggery -----1 cup

Cashew Nuts----10

Cardamom powder-1/2 tsp

Ghee-----2 Tsp

 

Procedure:

1.In a pan heat 1 Tsp of ghee and fry  cashew nuts to golden color and keep aside.

2.In the same pan, take little more ghee and add moong dal. Fry till moong daal turns to golden brown color.

3.Add milk and let the moong dal cook until daal is soft.

4.Once the moong dal is soft enough to eat, add jaggery and cook for some more time.

5.Jaggery, Moong dal and milk cook together and gets to little creamy texture.

6.Add cardamom powder and fried cashew nuts. Take out from flame.

Moong daal kheer is ready. Eat hot or cold. 

Tip:Moong dal and Jaggery are both good in cooling the body heat. In summer, make this sweet often. Good for health and tastes good.
